Drivers Hp Psc 2175 Series 6

I've just done a fresh intall of Windows 7 pro on my Elitebook. When I plugged in the printer for the first time it failed to find one driver online and renders the printer useless.

The funny thing is I still have the original drivers on a disc which I inserted and installed, but the problem is not fixed. Epson Lq 500 Windows 7. A search for a driver online on the hp site lead to a page that said the driver will automatically install when I connect the printer.

Maybe the computer doesn't recognize the drivers I installed. Is there a way to manually install them? Any other ideas? Thanks, Roger. Digital Electronics With Vhdl William Kleitz Pdf Printer. Hi, Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

I read your post on how you cannot install your HP PSC 2175xi on Windows 7. And, I am happy to help! Please try the following: Install the built-in print driver on a USB-connected computer with Windows 7 or Windows Vista. • Search Windows for devices, and then click Devices and Printers in the list of results.

• Click Add a printer. Figure: Clicking Add a printer • Click Add a local printer. Figure: Selecting Add a local printer • Select Use an existing port (USB001: Virtual printer port for USB), and then click Next. • Click Windows Update, and then wait for the print drivers to update. • Click HP, Hewlett-Packard, or Hewlett Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane. • Disconnect the printer USB cable from the computer, and then reconnect the cable. You can now use your printer. If this does not resolve the issue, try assigning an alternate driver by following the steps for Windows 7 in this post,,. If you are able to reach some resolution, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Hope this post resolves your issue!:). Thanks RnRMusicMan, I tried both suggestions without success. I believe the root cause is that my printer is so old (about 10 years) that the original driver software is not compatible with Windows 7.

When I attempted the 'add printer' option, the hp psc 2175 is not listed. I then attempted to select the 'have disk' option and was greeted with this error message: I moved on to the 'how to assign and alternate driver' tutorial. However when I right-click on my printer icon there is no 'printer properties' option. I searched every option available and could not find a place to add 'new driver'. I like this idea, and wonder if there is another way to make it work? Of note, I am able to use the scan function on the printer. Just the not the printer.

Another thing I discovered is that when I open my OpenSuse OS (my computer is dual-booted), it automatically downloaded the correct driver and it works great. So the fact that it is a x64 based system isn't the problem. In the meantime I will just transfer files to my OpenSuse OS and print from there, but it would be nice if there was a work around. Any other ideas?
